What is Your Healthy Acadia?
Join Healthy Acadia April 1-7, 2024, for National Public Health Week.
This year’s theme is, “Protecting, Connecting and Thriving: We Are All Public Health.”
We all have an impact on the health and well-being of our communities. During Public Health Week, Healthy Acadia invites you to share and hear stories and information that center and celebrate cultures of health in Downeast Maine.
This year we are sharing stories and resources that highlight how we protect, connect, and thrive in healthy ways across our region.
We are all public health and we want to know what this means to you.

Community health connects us all
At Healthy Acadia, we believe that every person must have a fair and equally accessible opportunity to attain their highest level of health.
Healthy Acadia’s mission is to empower people and organizations as we build healthy communities together. We address the critical health challenges our communities face and make it possible for all people to lead healthier lives throughout Hancock and Washington counties, and across Maine.
We are a community health coalition, working since 2001 with hundreds of partners and thousands of community members across our region to address a wide range of locally-identified health priorities. We build partnerships, coordinate education and public health services, and improve policies, systems and environments to create lasting positive changes to the health of our communities.
For the past 20 years, and into the next twenty, you lift our work to greater and greater impact on a mission to make the healthy choice the easy choice for all. Together, we are truly building health resources and wellness across our communities. Click here to learn more.
Thank you so very much to all of you - our community partners, friends, and supporters who help us continue to build healthier and more vibrant communities.
