Join DETLC's Student Advisory Board and Planning Team
We are excited to announce the return of Healthy Acadia’s Down East Teen Leadership Camp (DETLC) Student Advisory Board and Planning Team. We are looking for five, high school-aged youth to serve as members and one young adult (18-24ish) to serve as the team leader for the Advisory Board. We aim to hire a diverse group of young people from all over Washington County.
As a board member, not only will you play a crucial role in shaping DETLC, but you will also be compensated for your valuable contributions. Our Advisory Board high school students will earn $15/hr and the team leader will receive $18/hr. Former experience as a DETLC camper or staff is a plus, but not required.
The DETLC Student Advisory Board meets monthly from February - August 2024 to discuss and plan for DETLC. In July 2024, the Student Advisory Board turns into the Planning Team to help us plan and get ready for Camp. Below is the timeline for the Student Advisory Board/Planning Team Members:
December 2023 - January 2024 - Healthy Acadia will review applications received, and schedule and conduct interviews.
January 2024- Healthy Acadia will send out offer letters to applicants selected to serve as Board members
February - June- 2024 - Meet once per month (in person or Zoom) to discuss and plan DETLC 2024
July 2024 Meet more frequently (in person) as needed to get things ready for Camp
July 21, 2024- DETLC Camp Staff Training
July 22-26, 2024 - DETLC!**
August- Meet once to debrief Camp
**Please note-- as an advisory board member, you will also be a staff member at DETLC 2024. For folks just interested in being DETLC camp staff, we will share application information in February 2024.
