Recovery Coach Training

What is Recovery Coaching?

Recovery Coaching is an innovative peer mentoring program designed to empower individuals at every stage of their journey toward recovery from substance use disorder. Our trained Recovery Coaches serve as personal guides and mentors, helping you navigate through the obstacles and barriers that may arise along the way.

Recovery Coaches are compassionate individuals who have a vested interest in promoting recovery and supporting others. Whether they are individuals in established recovery, friends or family members of someone in recovery, or passionate allies, our Recovery Coaches are here to make a difference.

It's important to note that our coaches do not provide clinical services or medical treatment for substance use disorder. Instead, they offer invaluable guidance and support to help you overcome challenges and achieve sustainable recovery.

Becoming a Recovery Coach

Are you interested in making a positive impact in your community? You can train with us to become a Recovery Coach through our comprehensive 30-hour Recovery Coach Academy. This training program, developed by Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR), equips you with the necessary skills and knowledge to become an effective coach. Healthy Acadia’s CCAR-certified trainers, Denise Black and Terri Woodruff, are experienced in delivering various CCAR training courses.

Thanks to the generous funding support from the Office of Behavioral Health, we are thrilled to offer CCAR training courses free of charge to residents of Maine.
